We're not perfect

Mom's are not perfect. We all make mistakes. We use candy or pop as a incentive to make our children behave. We let them have crackers for lunch or fruit snacks for dinner, just to keep the peace. We let our children talk to themselves in bed after they wake up, just for a few more minutes of peace. Our laundry piles up, our houses are cluttered and our dishes need done. We stay in our jammies till well into the afternoon. We let our children watch to much TV, just to get something done or for some peace. We envy our husbands because they get to leave the house everyday, while they envy us for staying home.

We're not perfect.

But we do try to be good Moms. We make homemade meals when we can and bake cookies from scratch. We read to our children when they want to be read to, as many times as they want. We take them on trips to the zoo, library and park, just for the fun of it. We tuck them in at night, make sure they are comfortable and warm, and tell them we love them as many times a day as we can. We kiss their boo boo's, wash their hands and brush their teeth. Make sure they use their manners, say please and thank you and teach them to share. We sing with them in the car, dance with them when no one else will and teach them nursery rhymes. We know how to make our children laugh, and tickle them till they can't stand it anymore. We play outside with them, and get dirty if we have to, just for the fun of it.

We're not perfect, but we are darn good Moms that try our best everyday to teach our children, play with them and make time for them. We tell them that we love them even if we might not like them at that moment. We make sacrifices for them, even if it means giving up careers or a certain income level to stay home with them. We loose sleep staying up with them while they are sick, or just plain worrying about them because they are our babies.

I'm very proud to know that I'm not perfect, but I do try my best and love my child as much as I possibly can. Which to her is to the moon and back.
